Policy & Plate: A Workshop at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy- 4th Nov 2025

We dove deep with LKYSPP alumni and graduate student leaders on a critical topic: Is Decentralized Food Waste Management (FWM) feasible in Singapore?

In just 90 minutes, we used our Policy Hexagon Mapping tool to:

-Identify key policy frictions & enablers.

-Brainstorm ways to bring food waste back into the economy as a resource.

-Co-create a consensus-based, action-oriented policy map.

The session was incredibly fruitful! ⚡ So many fresh ideas from present and future policymakers on mapping actionable steps to boost Singapore's food security.

A huge thank you to the LKYSPP team for organizing this vital conversation!

We left more convinced than ever: Food waste management is not a problem; it is an opportunity.

Step 1: Collection of food waste in an airtight bokashi bucket, and its fermentation

Step 2: Adding the prepared pre-compost post fermentation to soil- In the ground, in a soil pot., or a vermiculture pit.
